Tickets are also available in Redmond at Atomic Music, and in Bend at Sunday Guitars or directly from Steve and Ronalee.
The tickets can only be sold in Oregon though, and must be purchased in person in order to comply with Oregon law

I bought a Steve Campbell guitar in January of 2007. Granted I haven’t owned a ton of guitars, but I have played with quite a few. I personally think this is one of the finest guitars in appearance and tone that I have ever seen.

Everywhere I take it, other musicians are amazed at the really rich, but deep tones, fine craftsmanship, inlays, and detailed looks when they have a chance to play it. Even if they have other name brand guitars like Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Carvin and Breedlove, my guitar always seems to outshine theirs. The only time this isn’t true is when I’m playing with someone else who has a Steve Campbell guitar. I have played many of his guitars and each and everyone is unique, but they all are equally amazing in their own way.

When I had to work and communicate with Steve while he was making my guitar (talking about size, picking out woods, etc.) or even repairs on multiple instruments, he has always tried to get it exactly the way I want. It is always perfect, nothing less!

I have had some trouble finding an amp for it because there are not that many that can do it justice. The electronics are great. That’s not the problem. It’s the fact that when I’m playing I want people to feel like they are right in front of me. I want the audience to hear what it’s made of.

Of course people come first, but out of all the things I own this is the last one I would sell even if I was living on the street.

I have purchased multiple custom made instruments from Steve Campbell.

First I had the pleasure of purchasing his number 4 concert sized guitar (cocobolo with a spruce top). I was pleasantly surprised by the terrific bass response and the volume of this guitar. The workmanship of all aspects of the construction are flawless, and care is given to the smallest detail.
Second, I liked my guitar so much that I bought his number 11 guitar, also concert sized, for my son on his 21st birthday. Again, Steve was very helpful in selecting the wood for the guitar. He listened to how and what my son played and produced a guitar that was just right for him. My son really likes his 21st birthday present.

Third, I purchased an electric acoustic bass guitar and again I got the same great personal service and advice on the materials for this instrument. This long scale bass has great tonal quality and playability.

Fourth, I purchased a travel guitar. It had the same careful attention to detail as my other instruments. This “travel” guitar has a full scale neck and the best tonal quality of any travel guitar I’ve ever heard.

I am fortunate to live near Steve, and to have seen many of the guitars he has made. He is always producing very beautiful looking and great sounding instruments. The smallest of details are as important to Steve as the outward appearance.

I would highly recommend his instruments to anyone purchasing a new guitar, mandolin, dobro, violin or any other wooden instrument. Take a look at Steve’s “made to order” instruments.

Welcome to Guitars by Steve Campbell. Our site is currently in the design phase, but we wanted to make you aware of us, so here we are!

Steve Campbell is a luthier in Prineville, Oregon. He makes custom-built acoustic guitars, dobros, mandolins, and more.

We will be adding a great deal of content to the site very soon, including high quality images of some of Steve’s work, so check back soon!
